Ironstone Concours d’Elegance is Born

Renowned farmers and vintners John & Gail Kautz envisioned an event that would benefit young people involved in agriculture, notably 4-H, Future Farmers of America and the California State Fair Scholarship Fund. From this initial idea, the Ironstone Concours d’Elegance Foundation was formed.

The antique and classic car show takes place at the beautiful grounds of Ironstone Vineyards in the gold country of the Sierra Nevada. Concours d’Elegance features more than 300 antique and classic cars as well as vintage trailers, motorcycles, and wooden boats. More that 3,000 visitors enjoy the beauty of the automobiles in the ambiance of the beautifully landscaped grounds of Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys, California.

Honored vehicle marques vary and include Packard, Pierce-Arrow, Bentley, Willys, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, Amphicars and vintage tractors. Early Fords, sports cars, exotics, century-old race cars and motorcycles, coach-built luxury marques, and unrestored and original automobiles are also spotlighted.

In the spirit of Concours, we encourage you to wear vintage hats to show your support of this classic, elegant event. We look forward to having you join in contributing to this wonderful event that benefits the youth in our community.

Students are the Beneficiaries of Your Generosity!

Most important are the students who benefit from generous sponsors and participants of the Ironstone Concours d’Elegance Foundation. Students participating in agricultural programs are the true beneficiaries, with proceeds supporting Central and Northern California youth in agriculture, notably FFA and 4-H. Concours has recently begun funding garden programs implemented by certain schools, while also supporting activities such as the Horse Classics, Computer Corps and Citizenship Service Learning. The foundation has helped fund the California State FFA headquarters in Galt, California, scholarships in partnership with the California State Fair and Calaveras County Fair.
